We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Technician to join our client’s reputable team in Littlehampton. Duties:
- Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs, including DAF and Volvo models
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and accurately
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out repairs to ensure compliance
- Maintain precise, up-to-date service records
- Organise workshop workloads to minimise vehicle downtime
- Support out-of-hours call-out duties, including fault diagnosis and repairs by phone when needed
- Assist with repairs and maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles, including road marking units and trucks between 28 and 44 tonnes
- Carry out vehicle inspections and rectify major defects according to health and safety standards
Requirements for the HGV Technician:
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or HGV Technician with 5-6 years of relevant industry expertise
- Knowledge of DAF and Volvo commercial vehicles is preferred but not essential
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
- Experience preparing vehicles for MOT tests is desirable
- Organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan workloads
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work across various shifts, including out-of-hours call outs
