Out of School Care Manager (Term - Time Only)
Northmuir Out of School Care in Kirriemuir, Angus is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Manager to lead our breakfast and after-school service.
Hours: Up to 24.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, including breakfast club (8-9am), after-school club (3-6pm) and administrative hours (some admin hours may be completed from home). We can offer a degree of flexibility in the working pattern for the right candidate. Applicants who are unable to work any aspect of the advertised hours, including breakfast club sessions, should clearly state their availability and any flexibility requirements when applying.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Essential Requirements:
- HNC, SVQ Level 3, or equivalent childcare qualification.
- Experience working with school-age children.
- Ability to lead a team and maintain high standards of care and compliance.
- Willingness to undertake the required management training and registration requirements with SSSC and PVG Scotland. Company-funded qualifications may be available for the right candidate.

Duties
- Lead and supervise staff to deliver a variety of activities suitable for children of different age groups.
- Organise daily routines, including snacks/meals and outdoor play.
- Develop and implement weekly plans that promote play, learning, socialisation, and wellbeing.
- Be a designated child protection officer and first aider.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, accident and incident reports.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, staff and external agencies to support children's development.
- Manage administrative tasks such as registers, ordering supplies and maintaining all policies/procedures, risk assessments, supervision, appraisals and training programmes for staff.
- Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and meet regulatory standards.
It is important to note that the initial contract is funded by the Access to Childcare Fund for our FQC Project (Flexible Quality Childcare Project), funded by the Scottish Government and previously managed by Children in Scotland. This project is coming to a close as of 31st March 2027 therefore, all contracts as part of this funding are required to be renewed In April 2027 depending on the services carried forward. We do expect to continue to offer services beyond March 2027 (Northmuir OOSC has been operating prior to funding), but we would require to legally inform you of your continued employment with us closer to the date.
