Job Overview
Clydach Community Council are seeking a proactive and versatile Caretaker/Maintenance professional to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of the premises, while providing excellent service to staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locking and unlocking Forge Fach Community Resource Centre and our Community Hall
- Basic maintenance and repairs including ground maintenance
- Cleaning of community buildings
- Setting up rooms for hirers and taking down afterwards
- Weekly checks of council property, defibrillators, planters, parks, and play equipment
- Working in partnership with the existing caretakers
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable and flexible worker with a positive attitude
- Experience in maintenance, caretaking, or cleaning (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or a similar role.
- Ability to carry out basic repairs and general maintenance tasks.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
