Nursery Practitioner | Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School, Battersea SW11
Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team in Battersea. We are a 66-place nursery set within 'The Old Court', a beautiful historic building on Sheepcote Lane, caring for children from three months to five years old.
Our setting has a real character of its own. Two cosy baby rooms on the ground floor (Discoverers and Explorers) open out onto a lovely courtyard garden with a large walk-in sandpit, while upstairs our stunning high-ceilinged Inventors room and pre-school Little Einsteins room give our older children space to be creative, curious and confident. Since opening in 2015 we've built a long-standing, close-knit team that families and children genuinely love.
About the role
This is a hands-on Nursery Practitioner role where you'll spend your day with the children, helping them learn and grow through play, exploration and everyday interactions. As part of your room team, you'll:
- Act as a key person to a small group of children, building close bonds with them and their families
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities in line with the EYFS
- Embrace our child-centred approach, including outdoor learning, in-the-moment planning and the Curiosity Approach
- Observe, assess and record children's progress, using your insights to plan next steps
- Support children's personal care, mealtimes, rest and routines with patience and warmth
- Make the most of our courtyard garden and local outings to extend learning beyond the rooms
- Keep safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene standards consistently high
- Work in genuine partnership with parents, sharing daily updates and celebrating milestones
About you
We're looking for practitioners who bring kindness, curiosity and energy, and who genuinely love being with young children. You'll have:
- A solid working knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding (or a willingness to learn)
- Warmth, patience and a real sense of fun
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Confidence working outdoors in all seasons
- An interest in child-led approaches such as in-the-moment planning or the Curiosity Approach would be welcomed
A full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or a recognised international equivalent) is preferred, but we are very happy to hear from unqualified candidates who are keen to work towards a qualification with our support. Paediatric First Aid is a nice-to-have, but we'll fund this if you don't already hold it.

Hours
Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6:30pm on a shift pattern. We're happy to discuss part-time options for the right candidate.
