Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Chef to join our dynamic catering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading, motivating, and supporting the catering staff to deliver high-quality food and exceptional service to our customers. You’ll ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, and foster a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the catering team, ensuring efficient food preparation and service.
- Lead by example, providing guidance, support, and training to team members.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor inventory to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with menu planning, taking into account dietary needs and customer preferences.
- Address customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Support with staff rotas, timekeeping, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive team culture.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Safety qualification desirable).
- Customer-focused with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
