Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Apprentice to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in early childhood education and develop essential knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality childcare, fostering a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. Previous nursery experience or a background in early childhood education is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. A passion for working with children and strong communication skills are vital for this role.
Duties
- Assist qualified nursery staff in implementing daily activities and educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
- Support the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Help organise and participate in play-based learning activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming environment within the nursery setting
- Support with administrative tasks such as recording children's progress and updating activity logs
- Communicate effectively with children, parents and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare
Qualifications
- Previous experience in nursery or early childhood education is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed
