KAM Automotive are looking for an Engine Parts Machinist to join our specialist team in Basildon.
This is a hands-on role working within our in-house machine shop, carrying out a variety of machining and engine reconditioning work.
Previous engine machining experience is not essential as training will be provided. We're more interested in finding someone who is mechanically minded, willing to learn and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Cylinder head skimming
- Cylinder head pressure testing
- Spot wear, damage and potential problems
- Use specialist engine machining tools and measuring equipment to work within tolerances
- Work on components from a huge variety of vehicles
As your experience develops, you'll have the opportunity to build your knowledge across a wider range of specialist engine machining and reconditioning processes
We're looking for someone who is:
- Mechanically minded and enjoys hands-on work
- Keen to learn a specialist trade
- Comfortable working with machinery and tools
- Able to work accurately and pay close attention to detail
- Interested in engines and understanding how components work
- Proud of producing work to a high standard
It would be advantageous if you have knowledge of the internals of a combustion engine (modern and classic).
