Overview
We at Heywood Engineering Services Ltd are seeking a skilled Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team, providing essential maintenance and installation services for residential properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, practical experience with gas systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of domestic gas works to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring full compliance with current gas safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair domestic gas appliances such as boilers, cookers, and central heating systems
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with current regulations and standards
- Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and techniques
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all operations
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks where necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed
Skills
- Proven experience with welding, plumbing, and assembly work in a domestic setting
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised mechanical equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of domestic gas systems and appliances
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Capable of heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or maintenance tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple jobs effectively
Requirements
- Current ACS qualifications.
- Valid Gas Safe Registration.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on social housing contracts.
- Unvented hot water qualification.

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
