About the role
SER Contractor is looking for an organised and proactive Bid Coordinator to join our work-winning team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, compliant and competitive tender submissions within the construction and social housing sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating bid activity from the opportunity stage through to submission, taking ownership of smaller bids and defined elements of larger, more complex tenders.
Working closely with the work-winning team and internal subject-matter experts, you will ensure bid programmes are followed, information is gathered efficiently, documents are well-structured and professionally presented, and deadlines are consistently met.
The role is hybrid, with a combination of office-based working in Epping and home working. Regular attendance at the office will be required to support team collaboration and bid planning.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of tenders, expressions of interest, pre-qualification questionnaires and frameworks.
- Manage submission portals, clarifications, and bid communications
- Maintain the bid programme, including deadlines, review stages, approvals and submission requirements.
- Review tender documents and create clear bid plans, trackers, and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to obtain accurate and timely information.
- Edit, review, and quality-check contributions to ensure compliance, consistency, and clarity, ensuring submissions comply with client instructions, including page limits, file formats, naming conventions and portal requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the bid library, templates, case studies, project examples, CVs, policies, accreditations and supporting documentation.
- Proactively identify process improvements to enhance bid quality and efficiency
About you
You will be highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing several deadlines at the same time. You should have excellent written communication skills and be confident working with people across different departments.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in a Bid Coordinator, tender administration or similar work-winning role.
- Experience delivering bids involving multiple internal contributors
- A good understanding of the tender processes, the importance of compliance and public-sector procurement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple live bids
- Strong proofreading and document-formatting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a critical eye for structure, consistency, and quality.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using tender portals, CRM systems or document management platforms.
- The confidence to challenge incomplete information and follow up with stakeholders professionally.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, refurbishment, maintenance, or social housing
- Experience supporting public-sector procurement framework and regulated procurement processes
