Lead Officer for Young Adult Carers – 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,163 per annum pro rata (Actual Salary £17,126)
York Carers Centre is an independent charity supporting unpaid carers in York. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our friendly dedicated team, helping young adult carers (aged 18-25yrs) to maintain their health and wellbeing through the provision of information, advice and support.
This senior post provides leadership and direct service delivery for the Young Adult Carer service, and you will be managing a small team of staff and volunteers. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the service in line with contract requirements.
The post-holder will ensure young adult carers are identified and recognised and have access to a range of emotional and practical support options, including one-to-one sessions, statutory carer assessments and groupwork/activities.
The role also requires you to identify funding opportunities, assist with funding bids, and maximise opportunities for fundraising to enhance the Young Adult Carer Service. You will be managing the delivery of a short-term funded project to support young adult carers on employability.
If you are empathetic and compassionate, have experience of supporting and engaging with vulnerable individuals and have knowledge of the voluntary and statutory services, then we’d love to hear from you.
The role will involve flexible/hybrid working travelling to and working from a range of outreach venues in the York area.
