Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The role is to help cover lunches (10.30am - 2.30pm) and annual leave (a shift between the hours of 7.30am-6.00pm), within all age ranges across nursery, and is flexible to suit your schedule. Pay varies surrounding age and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, supporting their development and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery setting.
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Manage children's behaviour in accordance with nursery policies, promoting positive interactions and conflict resolution.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment for all children.
- Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to senior staff as required.
- Drive to various locations if necessary for outings or events related to nursery activities.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred.
- A background in Early Childhood Education or related field is advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
