Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across various commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialised plumbing tools to complete tasks effectively.
- Conduct inspections to identify issues within plumbing systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Measure and cut pipes accurately using appropriate tools; assemble piping systems with precision.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs when required.
- Assist with the assembly of plumbing components and fixtures during new installations or renovations.
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials such as pipes, fixtures, or equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used; ensure all work complies with relevant regulations.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, recognising potential hazards around plumbing installations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plumbing work within commercial or residential settings.
- Proficiency in welding, use of hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment essential for plumbing tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to perform carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in confined or elevated spaces; comfortable working on ladders or scaffolding if necessary.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail; ability to follow technical drawings or plans accurately.
- Good communication skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team under supervision.
