Role Overview:

Working across both public and private sectors, the business develops strategic partnerships and investment opportunities that align with Galliford Try's wider growth ambitions.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Development Director to drive the growth strategy of Galliford Try Investments. The successful candidate will lead the identification, development and conversion of investment and development opportunities across the UK, building strong partnerships with clients, local authorities, developers, investors and other key stakeholders.
This is a pivotal leadership role that will shape the future pipeline of opportunities, influence strategic decision-making and support the long-term success of the Investments business.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and deliver the business development strategy in line with the objectives of Galliford Try Investments.
- Identify and secure new investment, regeneration, infrastructure and development opportunities.
- Create and manage a robust pipeline of prospective projects and partnerships.
- Lead market analysis and identify emerging opportunities across target sectors.
- Develop compelling value propositions and investment solutions for clients and partners.
- Drive opportunity conversion from initial engagement through to financial close and project delivery.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with local authorities, government bodies, private sector developers, investors and strategic partners.
- Represent Galliford Try at industry events, forums and networking opportunities.
- Position the business as a trusted partner within the infrastructure, regeneration and development sectors.
- Lead negotiations and influence key decision-makers throughout the business development lifecycle.
- Support the evaluation and appraisal of investment opportunities, including commercial, financial and delivery risks.
- Work closely with internal teams to develop business cases, investment proposals and partnership structures.
- Provide strategic input into funding and financing solutions.
- Support due diligence activities and investment approvals processes.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality submissions, proposals and presentations.
- Ensure client requirements are effectively translated into winning solutions.
Support procurement and partnership bidding activities where required.

About You:
- Significant experience in a senior business development, investment, development or strategic partnerships role.
- Proven track record of generating and securing high-value opportunities within infrastructure, regeneration, construction, real estate or investment sectors.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience evaluating complex projects and investment opportunities.
- Understanding of project finance, development funding and infrastructure investment models.
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Business, Property, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering or Construction Management.
