Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supervisor / Warehouse Manager to join and oversee daily warehouse operations within our logistics center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials handling, process optimisation, and team coordination to ensure efficient and safe storage, shipping, and receiving activities. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels, orders, and shipments accurately.
- Oversee materials handling processes ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods using equipment such as forklifts; operate forklift when necessary.
- Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity across the warehouse.
- Manage logistics operations including coordination with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to meet delivery deadlines.
- Lead and develop warehouse staff through effective team management, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping & receiving activities; oversee heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Apply mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Monitor inventory levels, organise stock rotation, and ensure proper storage procedures are followed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with a strong understanding of materials handling and shipping & receiving processes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams within a warehouse setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good aptitude for basic troubleshooting of warehouse equipment.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly involved in warehousing operations.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies to optimise operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with logistics concepts including 3PL services and supply chain management principles.
