Schools Mutual Services is working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Dudley to recruit an enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced Science Teacher looking to join a welcoming school committed to high standards of teaching, strong caring ethos and excellent outcomes for students. The role is initially long-term, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

The Role
As a Secondary Science Teacher, you'll play a vital role in delivering engaging and practical Science lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking and academic success.
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a broad curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics while preparing students for GCSE examinations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics as part of the secondary Science curriculum
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress
- Preparing students for GCSE Combined Science and Separate Science examinations where applicable
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all learners
- Supporting students with SEND, EHCPs and additional learning needs
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Delivering practical lessons safely in accordance with laboratory procedures
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers
- Contributing to the wider life of the Science department and school community
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, professionalism and student welfare
What we're looking for
We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people and delivering outstanding secondary education.
You should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status (QTLS), or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science within UK secondary schools or successful teaching placements
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
