We are seeking a motivated Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our well-established Children’s Psychological Health & Wellbeing team. You will be part of a strong, experienced CWP team (4 practitioners) working alongside Psychological Practitioners within a mature stepped care model.g
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a service already delivering evidence-based early intervention, with clear pathways, robust supervision, and a strong focus on outcomes.
You will deliver low-intensity interventions for children, young people and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This includes working with children who present with neurodivergence and also co-occurring physical health conditions, requiring flexible, personalised and neuroaffirmative approaches to care.
You will manage a defined caseload, contribute to assessment and use routine outcome measures to guide care within a supportive MDT.
We are looking for a qualified CWP who is passionate about early intervention, inclusion, and improving access, with strong engagement and organisational skills.

The post involves provision of evidence-based interventions to children and young people with neurodivergence and/or physical health conditions for example, Autism or ADHD at a Child Development Centre. Where appropriate to provide support for the work of other members of the multidisciplinary team and signpost families to appropriate support. Finally, to contribute where appropriate, to service development and consultation to the wider MDT.

Therapeutic skills
Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties within a child development centre context.
Working in partnership, support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
Work in partnership with children, young people and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
Support and empower children, young people and families to make informed choices about the intervention.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.
Undertakes accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Adhere to the service referral protocols. Signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.
Through close case management and supervision, e scalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope, or more severe ensuring adherence to other relevant elements of service delivery.
Provide a range of information and support for evidence based psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help. This work may be face-to-face, by telephone or via other media.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of children and young people contacts offered, and sessions carried out per week in order to improve timely access and minimise waiting times.
