Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Skid Steer Operator / HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for transporting a skid steer planer to sites across the UK using a HGV, carrying out road planing works safely and efficiently, and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship on highway maintenance and surfacing projects.
Full training will be provided for the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the highways industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport the skid steer and planing attachment to and from sites using an HGV.
- Operate skid steer planing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Carry out road planing works to client specifications and project requirements.
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and routine machine maintenance.
- Load, unload and secure plant and equipment safely.
- Work closely with supervisors and surfacing crews to deliver projects on programme.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping for vehicles, plant and work areas.
- Complete daily paperwork, defect reports and operational records.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Company procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Willingness to work days, nights, weekends and stay away from home when required.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated.

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience
The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
- CPCS or NPORS Plant Operator Card.
- Category C+E (Class 1) Licence.
- Experience operating skid steer planers or similar plant.
- Experience within highway maintenance or road surfacing.
- Highways Passport.

Pay: £22.00-£26.00 per hour
