Classroom Link is recruiting a passionate and enthusiastic Catering Teacher to join a supportive educational setting in Coventry. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through practical, hands-on learning while developing their confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
We welcome applications from qualified teachers as well as experienced catering professionals who have experience delivering training, mentoring, or teaching young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging catering and food preparation lessons
- Teach practical cooking skills, food hygiene, nutrition, and kitchen safety
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed
- Support students of varying abilities to develop confidence and independence
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to meet individual learner needs
Requirements
- Previous teaching, tutoring, training, or instructional experience within catering or hospitality
- A strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food hygiene
- Excellent classroom or group management skills
- A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Qualifications
- QTS/QTLS is desirable but not essential
- A catering, hospitality, or professional cookery qualification is desirable
- Industry experience within catering, hospitality, or commercial kitchens is highly valued
