About Us
FIFTH Movement is committed to improving children's health, opportunities and confidence through high-quality physical activity and education.
Our Swim:ED programme brings a fully equipped, heated pop-up swimming pool directly onto school sites, removing barriers such as travel, cost and time away from learning. This lets more children build essential swimming ability and water safety skills in a familiar, safe environment. The pool relocates to a different school every half-term, covering sites across Stockport and Tameside.
About The Role
We're looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Lifeguard to support the day-to-day running of our Swim:ED pop-up pool programme in schools. Working alongside our swim teaching team, you'll help maintain a safe, well-managed pool environment, carry out routine operational checks, and keep lessons running smoothly through the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous supervision of the pool and uphold high safety standards.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid where required.
- Complete daily water quality testing and report any maintenance or operational concerns.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of the pop-up pool when required.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and operational procedures.
- Represent FIFTH Movement professionally when working with schools, staff and pupils.
Essential Requirements
- NPLQ Level 2 Lifeguard Qualification
- Paedatric First Aid certification
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Safeguarding training
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Clear understanding of pool safety and risk management
- Confident working in a school-based, pop-up pool environment
Why Join Us?
You'll help children learn to swim and stay safe in water — skills that could save their life. By bringing the pool into schools, you're removing the barriers that stop children learning to swim in the first place, and playing a direct part in building their confidence in and around water.
Pay: Up to £26,000.00 per year
