Job Overview
This is a varied role covering all aspects of branch operations. You will work alongside an experienced team and receive full training, giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience across the business
Duties
- Serving trade and retail customers on the trade counter.
- Providing excellent customer service and developing your product knowledge.
- Picking and preparing customer orders and deliveries.
- Assisting drivers with loading vehicles and preparing deliveries.
- Delivering goods to tradespeople, building sites and members of the public when required.
- Covering delivery driving during busy periods and staff holidays.
- Receiving and checking incoming goods.
- General warehouse duties and maintaining a clean and organised warehouse.
- Processing customer orders.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries.
- Preparing customer quotations.
- Liaising with suppliers.
- Supporting the showroom when required.
Learning and developing knowledge of plumbing, heating and associated products
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- A flexible and helpful approach.
- Good initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop across all areas of the branch.
- Plumbing and heating knowledge or trade counter experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Forklift experience or a forklift licence would also be advantageous.
