Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver / Yard Operative to join our team.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position combining driving responsibilities with yard operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials and prefabricated pipework are delivered safely and efficiently to our construction sites while supporting the day-to-day running of our yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving a 3.5-tonne van to deliver and collect prefabricated pipework and materials from construction sites.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Loading and unloading deliveries, including manual handling of materials.
- Making deliveries throughout London, Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, and surrounding areas.
- Providing a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and site personnel.
- Reporting customer feedback, issues, or delivery concerns to the office team.
- Organising, moving, and storing materials safely within the yard.
- Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries within the yard.
- Supporting yard operations, including grinding, preparing, and painting prefabricated pipework.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Following all company health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe manual handling practices.
About You
The ideal candidate will be dependable, organised, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a good driving record.
- Experience driving a 3.5-tonne van in a professional capacity.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving materials safely.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team.
- Applicants must meet the company's vehicle insurance requirements
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a delivery driver, yard operative, or similar role.
- Experience working within construction, engineering, or manufacturing environments.

Job Type: Full-Time, Self-Employed
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm (flexibility required for occasional early starts and later finishes)
Pay: £130.00-£140.00 per day
