Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care, assisting individuals with daily living activities while promoting their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will be reliable, caring, and possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each person's needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Help with medication reminders and basic health monitoring as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in condition
- Support with household tasks including light cleaning and meal preparation where appropriate
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families to ensure high standards of care are maintained
- Assist with transportation for appointments or outings, requiring driving skills if applicable
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation responsibilities
- Valid Moving & Handling and Basic Care Training certificates
- Valid PVG certificate (or willing to obtain one, if applicable)
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards residents or clients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions accurately
