Tuesday 1-6.45pm (1 break)
Wednesday- 2.30-6.30pm (0 break)
Thursday 10-6pm (2 breaks)
Sunday- 8.30-2.00pm (0 break)
The ideal candidate would cover the whole set hours, however, if you could only cover certain shifts, please do apply but mention this in the application as this is negotiable. The position would be to start in September/October 2026 for approximately 9-12 months, but training/cover is available beforehand.
This job is term time only, working to cover maternity leave through an even monthly salary. We have all half term breaks off, including the entire summer holidays, 2 weeks at Easter and at Christmas.
We are seeking a dedicated an enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for swimming and a commitment to educating individuals of all ages in water safety and swimming techniques. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment, ensuring that each participant feels confident and safe while developing their swimming skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
- Educate students on water safety practices and the importance of swimming skills.
- Develop tailored lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring progression and engagement.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the pool area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress, concerns, or any necessary adjustments to training programmes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching swimming is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate effectively across different age groups.
- A valid swim instructor certification or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Knowledge of water safety protocols and first aid/CPR certification is advantageous.
- A passion for teaching and helping others develop their swimming abilities.
- Ability to work fixed hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
