Job Summary
We are looking for a new member of our team to join us for 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, to help us look after our 15,000 patients here in Borehamwood.
Working under, and accountable to, our Lead Nurse, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the multidisciplinary Primary Care team to provide safe, smooth and efficient patient care.
We are looking for a team player who is reliable, organised, methodical, able to follow instructions, but can use their initiative to problem solve, and be able to identify potential areas for improvement and development within the surgery.
You will be required to adhere to all our policies including Infection Prevention & Control, data protection, and patient confidentially.
Basic Life support qualifications will be required, and provided yearly
Areas of responsibility:
Stock ordering, rotation & management of sundries/supplies for the surgery, including clinical and non-clinical areas. This will include medical equipment, sample taking equipment, and vaccines
Preparation of the Clinical rooms each day to ensure patient safety & smooth flow of the clinics. This will include preparing for some specific clinics such as flu/vaccine clinics, joint injection clinics, baby check clinics.
Management of the vaccine cold chain and fridges including reporting any breaches and safety concerns to the Lead Nurse or Practice Manager
Infection prevention & control spot checks, including regular auditing, and changing of equipment/sundries on a rotational basis. This may also involve liaising with our cleaning team to always ensure the highest of standards
Weekly emergency equipment checks and management including quality control checks where needed
Working with the clinical team on health promotion campaigns including management & ordering all publications used within the surgery including waiting room/clinical room displays, and health promotion events.
Managing our annual PAT testing & calibration programmes.
Some general housekeeping duties if needed.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
