Job Description
Working in a permanent, full-time role, we are hiring for a Graduate Geologist / Estimator to join our office-based team at our depot in Cleland.
It is envisaged that role of the successful candidate will be to assist our office team in operational aspects of new and existing projects, including with budget estimates, quotes and tenders.
The successful candidate will also be given opportunities to attend site to gain valuable experience in the field.
Knowledge in the field of Geology / Earth Science will be a distinct advantage and it is anticipated that this role could be suitable for recent graduates.
Future training and career development opportunities will also be made available to the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will not be expected to know all the answers on day one - training and support will be provided. However they should have a proactive approach and a willingness to learn.
The role will be based full-time in our office in Cleland, with opportunities to travel to our various operating sites across Scotland.
Regular working (office) hours: 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Core Responsibilities
- Support and management of new and existing projects
- Development and pricing of new projects, tenders and opportunities
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Site visits
- Monthly review of invoicing for completed work
- Dealing with new enquiries
- Some assistance with administrative tasks
Requirements
- Education and/or Experience in Geology / Earth Science
- Strong numerical and technical skills
- Skilled in using modern technology / IT packages (particularly Excel)
- Valid driving license
