In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely delivering furniture to customers’ homes or businesses, ensuring timely arrivals and professional service. You’ll also assist with the installation of furniture, making sure each piece is set up correctly and to the customer’s satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving skills with hands-on installation work, all while providing top-tier service that leaves a lasting impression.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload furniture items efficiently and carefully to prevent damage during transit
- Deliver furniture to customers’ locations promptly and professionally, maintaining excellent communication throughout the process
- Assist with the assembly and installation of furniture in various settings, ensuring proper placement and stability
- Conduct thorough inspections of delivered items for quality and accuracy before completing each delivery
- Communicate clearly with customers to coordinate delivery times, answer questions, and address any concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and inventory documentation
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or installer is highly preferred, especially in furniture or similar heavy goods transportation
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not required
- Experience operating large vehicles such as trucks or vans used for commercial deliveries
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with handling heavy lifting equipment is beneficial
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and adherence to safety protocols
