Chef / Cook – Self-Employed Opportunity

About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic Chef/Cook to prepare high-quality meals in a caring and supportive environment. You'll be responsible for planning, preparing and serving nutritious dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently while being part of a dedicated care home team.
Pay Rate
- Self-employed: £12.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals in a timely manner.
- Set up and organise the kitchen with the necessary equipment and ingredients.
- Follow recipes while adapting meals to meet residents' dietary requirements where needed.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, delegating duties as appropriate.
- Ensure meals are attractively presented and served to a high standard.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Check food quality and ensure all ingredients are fresh and within date.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety.
- Contribute ideas for menus and new recipes where appropriate.

- Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook.
- A good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
