PM SHIFT (3PM-12AM)
The Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the production line, ensuring health & safety, food safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently achieved. The role involves leading and supporting team members, monitoring performance, and ensuring operational targets are met efficiently and safely.
- Maintain and promote high standards of health & safety across the production area.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, including:
- Correct manual handling procedures
- Use of PPE such as ear defenders where required
- Keeping fire exits and fire doors clear
- Rotating staff where necessary to reduce fatigue and risk
- Report any health & safety concerns or incidents promptly.
Food Safety, Quality & Hygiene
- Ensure food safety, quality, and hygiene standards are maintained in line with company policies and customer expectations.
- Promote and maintain “clean as you go” standards throughout the shift.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and audit-ready.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and motivate the production team to achieve daily targets and KPIs.
- Allocate new starters a buddy and ensure all related training documentation is completed and kept up to date.
- Support the training and development of new and existing employees to help them achieve their full potential.
- Brief team members on company updates, new initiatives, operational changes, and targets.
Production & Performance
- Minimise waste while maintaining the quality standards expected by customers.
- Ensure team members return promptly from breaks and maintain productivity standards throughout the shift.
Administration & Communication
- Escalate any issues or concerns that cannot be resolved directly to the relevant manager.
- Complete any additional reasonable duties required by the business.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a team preferred.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving.
