Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods (Indian food annd soft drinks) efficiently and safely to various locations, within reasonable distance within and in around Bidford. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time while adhering to safety regulations. Ensuring payment has been made and cash handling.
Duties
- Safely operate a delivery (own) vehicle, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.
- Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as necessary.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise time and fuel efficiency.
- Communicate with other staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of any issues encountered during transit.
- Conduct routine checks on the (own) vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting and addressing any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer queries or concerns professionally.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with customers and team members.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
