Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food production
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines across all kitchen activities
- Support training and development of junior staff members to enhance their culinary skills
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to coordinate service times and optimise customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail in food presentation
- Good communication skills to foster a positive team atmosphere
