Luke 9:48 Homes is looking for a dedicated, experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our children's home in Maidstone, Kent.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home and help ensure that young people receive consistently high-quality care.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills within a growing children's home.
About the role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the overall operation of the home and take responsibility for the home in their absence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Providing strong leadership and guidance to the staff team.
- Taking responsibility for the home during the Registered Manager's absence.
- Supporting staff with their practice, development and performance.
- Helping to maintain a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are followed.
- Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Monitoring the quality of care provided.
- Supporting staff supervision, training and development.
- Assisting with staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
- Supporting the management of incidents and complaints.
- Ensuring records and documentation are completed accurately.
- Working with social workers, families, placing authorities and other professionals.
- Supporting preparation for Ofsted inspections and monitoring visits.
- Identifying areas where the home can improve.
- Supporting the Registered Manager with audits, reviews and quality assurance.
- Promoting positive outcomes and independence for young people.
- Leading by example and maintaining professional standards across the team.
About you

Experience within children's residential care is highly desirable, particularly experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager.
