About The Priests House
The Priests House is an exciting and busy wedding and events venue located at the historic Barden Tower on the Bolton Abbey Estate, Skipton. We specialise in hosting intimate small and medium-sized weddings and events, placing a strong emphasis on atmosphere, a personal yet professional service, and seamless execution. We believe that a guest's time with us often creates some of the most important memories in their lives, and we take great pride in ensuring these occasions are as special as they deserve to be.
The Priests House has seen consistent growth year on year since 2019 and is now one of the busiest wedding venues in Yorkshire.
Role Overview
The Assistant Wedding Coordinator plays a key operational role in supporting the delivery of each wedding day. Working in close collaboration with the business owner and the rest of the team, the coordinator ensures that events run smoothly, punctually, and to our consistently high standards. The ideal candidate will help us maintain our attention to detail, our personable service, and uphold the values that define The Priests House.
Position Details
- Job Role: Assistant Wedding Coordinator
- Reports to: Business owner
- Based at: The Priests House, Barden Tower, Bolton Abbey, BD23 6AS
- Pay: : £24,000 per annum (£30,000 FTE). Share of tips. Enrolment into the NEST pension scheme.

- Length of contract: Permanent
- Probationary period: 6 months
- Notice period after probation: Five weeks
- Hours: 32 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
● Supervise front-of-house staff members during weddings and events
● Liaise between the kitchen team and front-of-house to maintain smooth service
● Ensure weddings and events remain punctual and on schedule
● Oversee wedding and restaurant services when required
● Undertake venue tours with prospective wedding couples
● Coordinate setup days, ensuring the venue is styled beautifully to the specification of the wedding and that high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained
● Assist with checking stock-levels of the bar and cleaning products
● Work flexibly between tasks, whether that is table service, bar service or venue preparation
● Potential to assist in the planning of weddings where needed, to oversee planning meetings with wedding couples in person, virtually or by phone
● Identify what needs doing or if anything needs improvement and take initiative – to be one step ahead
● Other appropriate duties to meet the requirements of the business
Key Traits & Skills
While specific qualifications are not essential, the ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a professional yet personable approach, and a genuine passion for providing a service that exceeds guests’ expectations. Candidates should also have a proven background in hospitality.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in the hospitality or wedding industry
- Maths and English GCSE
- Food hygiene certificate
- Personal licence
