Due to continued business success and a strong pipeline of exciting projects commencing throughout 2026, Cawarden is seeking an experienced Civils & Groundworks Site Manager to join our expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality civils and groundworks projects across the UK, with a particular focus on the Midlands region.
The Role
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will lead site teams, coordinate resources, maintain client relationships, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and operational excellence are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor all site personnel, including subcontractors.
- Conduct site inductions and brief personnel on project Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Ensure full compliance with all current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Plan works effectively, ensuring appropriate risk assessments, methods of work, and control measures are in place before activities commence.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors are suitably trained, competent, and compliant.
- Coordinate labour, machinery, plant, fuel, and site resources.
- Complete all statutory and company documentation, including:
- Daily site diaries
- Equipment and machinery inspections
- Electronic reporting via computer and/or tablet
- Deliver daily safety and operational briefings to site teams.
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports, including photographs, to Senior Management.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
- Uphold Cawarden's company values, standards, and professional reputation.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Black or Gold Card
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong IT and computer skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Management role within Civils and Groundworks
Desirable
- Temporary Works Supervisor Certification
