As a Groups & Event Sales Executive, you will be responsible for supporting commercial success by maximising all opportunities to sell functions and accommodation within both the social and corporate segments, actively working to convert direct and incoming leads driven by sales & marketing demand-generating initiatives. While this job requires sales coordination of a variety of event types, this specific job vacancy will have a primary focus on Weddings, Special Events, Private Dining, Banqueting & Group Travel for 9+ bedrooms, with celebratory event and group bedroom revenue targets.
What You’ll Be Doing

Acting as the central point of contact between the main client organiser and the hotel at all pre-event stages before operational handover, from enquiry though to contracting, coordinating final details and billing.

Enquiry handling with timely responses, using the sales strategy to maximise revenue opportunities suited to the requirements and ensuring system function diary entries are up to date with booking status, date booking taken, client details and updated activities.

Ensures groups and events are booked following the correct booking procedures.

Hospitably host show-a-rounds of the hotel, promoting relevant facilities and services and answering client questions to assist with decision making and progress booking conversion.

Support accurate reporting of sales by keeping trackers up to date with conversion activities.

Manage client expectations by coordinating booking stages and requirements in order to complete function sheets with final details and obtain correct payments.

Proactively identify operational challenges associated with bookings, working with relevant departments and main organising client to apply alternative solutions.

Utilise available opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell packages and services, based on client requirements.

Accordingly update group bedroom blocks and assigned meeting space for groups and events.

Communicate effective handover through confirmed final function sheets for operational team use.
What We’re Looking For

At least 2 years of prior direct experience working in luxury or 4-star hospitality commercial sales, ideally within both corporate and social events, as well as group bedroom reservations.

Confident with software programmes including Opera Sales & Catering, ResDiary, Microsoft Office suite.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Capable of self-motivated independent work as assigned or delegated.

Ability to work some weekends and evenings, our usual working week is primarily Monday to Friday, with an expected minimum of 1 Tuesday to Saturday per month.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Ideal but not required to have, prior knowledge of Marriott brands.
