Outline of the Role
Journey’s Learning Disability Specialist Workers plan and deliver employment and independent living skills training sessions for groups of 8-10 adults with intellectual (learning) disability.
This role is suitable for applicants from those with backgrounds in teaching, community education, IAG (applicants with disabilities), HM forces and wider Voluntary & Community sector (project delivery).
We are not looking for applications from those who work in domicillary or residential care, supported living, health or personal assistants. This is because Journey Enterprises does not provide care services but training services.

We have four day Centres: Acomb and Blyth (Northumberland), Coundon (County Durham) and Newcastle Upon Tyne. Our staff team consists of employees, volunteers and both postgraduate and undergraduate students on practice-based placements. Location and Operating Hours
The post is based at Blyth NE24 1LL.
The Charity operates between 08.30 and 16.30 from Mondays to Thursdays and from 08.30 – 16.00 on Fridays.
