This role helps people with urgent health needs by assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, making a real difference to timely patient care.
You’ll work as part of a skilled urgent care team, supporting patients with both minor illness and more complex needs. You will practise with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with colleagues across health and care services. Your work will help ensure safe, effective care and smooth patient journeys.
What you’ll do:
Carry out telephone triage and face-to-face assessments for undiagnosed conditions
Diagnose, treat and manage patients, including referral or discharge
Prioritise and respond to urgent and emergency presentations
Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe care pathways
Support and supervise junior staff and students
What we’re looking for:
Current professional registration with NMC or HCPC
Degree in nursing, paramedic science or equivalent experience
Advanced assessment skills and evidence-based clinical decision making
Experience in urgent or unplanned care settings
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills
