About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Site Labourer to join our construction team on a residential house-building development in St Andrews.
The successful candidate will support the site management and trades teams with a wide range of general construction duties, helping to keep the development safe, clean, organised and running efficiently.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, follows instructions well and is committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general labouring duties across the residential construction site.
- Load, unload, move and distribute building materials around the site.
- Keep work areas, roads, plots and communal areas clean, tidy and free from hazards.
- Assist with site set-up, preparation and general housekeeping.
- Support deliveries and ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately.
- Assist with the removal and disposal of waste and construction materials.
- Carry out basic groundworks and other general tasks when required.
- Use hand tools and basic equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist tradespeople with preparation and installation tasks where appropriate.
- Help maintain safe access routes around the development.
- Follow all site rules, RAMS, health and safety procedures and instructions from site management.
- Report hazards, defects, damaged equipment or unsafe working conditions promptly.
- Wear the required PPE at all times.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the construction team.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working on a construction site is desirable.
- A good understanding of basic construction site health and safety.
- A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work.
- Good awareness of site safety and housekeeping.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake different tasks.
- Valid CSCS card.
Desirable
- Previous experience on a residential house-building development.
- Experience using basic hand tools and construction equipment.
- Relevant site safety training.
- First Aid, Manual Handling or other relevant construction training.
- UK valid driving licence.
