Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in meal and food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food presentation to meet service standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily operations, including ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times
- Support catering events by setting up and clearing dining areas
- Washing dishes and general cleaning of the work area
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or a similar kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
