Youth Support Worker (Midlands)
UK Fostering is rated OUTSTANDING in all categories by Ofsted. We are recruiting a Youth Support Worker to work alongside our Social Workers and foster carers, to support our children and young people.
We work hard to achieve positive and sustainable changes in children’s lives and support our foster families to a very high standard.
The successful applicant will have experience of direct work with children and young people for example in a residential setting, a youth offending, a school or youth group. Exceptional interpersonal skills, a proven track record of displaying flexibility, versatility and working as an integral member of a small team are essential. The ability to speak languages reflective of our foster carers and local community (e.g. Urdu and Punjabi) would be an distinct advantage.
The job description includes the following aspects:
· Hold a small caseload to support children and young people through direct work.
· Undertake visits to foster carers and provide administrative support to social workers.
· Supervise family contact between children and birth families.
· Transport children to school, appointments and activities when necessary
· Participate in meetings with other professionals and complete comprehensive records of discussions.
· Help organise social events for the foster families and children.
· Work alongside qualified Social Workers to arrange and deliver group work to carers and children.
· Support the preparation and setup of training events for carers and staff.
