Job Summary:
This family of three, based in South Cambridgeshire, is seeking a live-out Nanny / Housekeeper / Personal Assistant. Both parents work full-time from home and have a young child (aged 9 months), as well as a friendly French bulldog and a cat. The position involves a mix of childcare, household support, and occasional PA duties, with full-time childcare required during school holidays.
The role includes managing daily routines, supporting the smooth running of the household including cooking family meals, cleaning (whilst the child is asleep or being looked after by parents), and assisting with light administrative and organisational tasks. The family is looking for someone warm, organised, and proactive, with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who is comfortable working in a busy home environment and can use their initiative while also knowing when to ask for direction. A genuine interest in cooking and meal preparation is essential, and occasional evening babysitting may be required by prior arrangement.
Job specification:
- Sole charge care of one young child including planning and organising age-appropriate activities, games, and educational exercises
- Preparing child’s meals and supporting bath and bedtime routines; preparing lunches and suppers for the whole family, and occasionally assisting with bedtime when parents are unavailable
- Housekeeping duties including regular cleaning, laundry (adults and children), ironing, stripping and making beds, hoovering, mopping, tidying, and maintaining children’s spaces
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's behaviour, needs, and progress
- Regular household organisation, including kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer cleaning, children’s wardrobes, and playroom organisation
- Administrative and PA support, including bookings, organising deliveries, and ad hoc assistance
Candidate specification:
- Proven experience in a similar private household role with sole charge childcare
- Basic knowledge of child development principles is advantageous
- Organised, proactive, and confident managing a varied role
- Strong cooking skills and enthusiasm for meal preparation — essential
- Full clean driving licence — preferred
- Paediatric First Aid qualification — preferred
- Willingness to travel (UK and international) for up to 2 weeks
- DBS and background checks required
- Comfortable around dogs and cats
Enhanced DBS check required at offer stage and a current First Aid Certificate
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
