The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Inspector to join our team. Reporting into the Quality function, you will be responsible for conducting, documenting, and validating Factory Acceptance Tests on machines prior to customer shipment.
The role plays a critical part in ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and software-related requirements meet the required standards and customer expectations. In addition, you will carry out in-build electrical wiring inspections to verify compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and build requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Conduct mechanical, electrical, and software testing in accordance with approved FAT procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Operate and evaluate equipment to confirm correct functionality and performance.
- Accurately record test results and complete all required documentation, including updating the Epicor system where necessary.
- Capture and catalogue photographic or video evidence of test procedures when required.
- Identify non-conformities and raise issues promptly, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Conduct re-testing following corrective actions to ensure full compliance before product release.

FAT Planning and Preparation
- Support the cross-functional development and continuous improvement of FAT plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure all required test equipment, software, tools, and materials are available, calibrated, and ready before testing begins.
Liaise with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to confirm machine readiness for testing.

FAT Execution and Problem Solving
- Ensure all FAT activities are conducted safely, accurately, and in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues identified during testing and work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve them.
Maintain clear, accurate, and structured records of all testing activities and outcomes.

Quality and Compliance
- Create and communicate Quality Alerts where required, supporting effective deployment across production areas.
- Maintain strict control and traceability of quality documentation and inspection records.
- Support internal quality initiatives and continuous improvement activities relating to testing, inspection, and manufacturing processes.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the business.

About You
You will ideally have:
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, testing, inspection, or quality environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems such as Epicor.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
