Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Hire Controller for our Tool Plant specialising in plant hire management. The successful candidate will oversee the coordination and administration of plant hire operations, ensuring seamless communication between departments and clients. This role demands a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain processes. The Hire Controller will play a vital part in maintaining efficient workflow and accurate data entry within our systems.
Duties
- Manage and coordinate plant hire schedules using transportation management systems and SyteLine to optimise utilisation.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely delivery and collection of equipment.
- Utilise AS400 and other logistics software to track inventory levels, order status, and utilisation reports.
- Liaise with 3PL providers to coordinate transportation and delivery logistics.
- Maintain accurate data entry related to plant hire transactions, customer details, and equipment status.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, optimise resource allocation, and improve overall efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Assist with supply chain management tasks, including analysis of logistics processes to enhance productivity.
- Support shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing enquiries promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transportation management systems, logistics, or supply chain roles.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret operational data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional phone manner.
- Competent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures within a plant or warehouse environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining organisation.
- Good typing skills for quick data input
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and supply chain management practices.

Pay: £27,000.00-£29,500.00 per year
