Full-Time Pharmacist / Independent Prescriber
Location: Cathkin, Dalmarnock and Dumbarton

NJC Healthcare LTD is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist or Independent Prescriber (IP) to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will involve working across three community pharmacy branches in Cathkin, Dalmarnock, and Dumbarton.
The successful candidate will support pharmacy operations by providing double cover where required, covering holidays and weekly days off within the existing Pharmacy Manager rota. All three pharmacies currently deliver the Pharmacy First Plus service.
Applicants who are not currently qualified as Independent Prescribers must be willing to work towards achieving this qualification. NJC Healthcare LTD can provide support through experienced Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPPs) within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Responsible Pharmacist in a community pharmacy setting
- Deliver all core NHS services and support the development of future private services
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centred pharmaceutical care, including prescribing for common clinical conditions
- Maintain and lead on professional, legal, and regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and compliance
- Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve standards of care and safety
- Work collaboratively with Store Managers to develop and support the wider pharmacy team
- Offer expert advice on medicines, including administration techniques, side effects, and treatment benefits
- Participate in continuous professional development, including monthly prescribing audits
Requirements
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Excellent communication and patient care skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations
- Strong commitment to professional development and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Salary is competitive and will be discussed based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and expertise.

Pay: £55,000.00-£62,000.00 per year
