H&K Workforce Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Depot Manager on behalf of an established organisation operating in Northampton.
The successful candidate will support the Depot Manager with the efficient day-to-day operation of the site. This will include supervising employees, maintaining service and productivity standards, supporting stock and warehouse operations, monitoring performance and ensuring health-and-safety procedures are followed.
This position would suit an experienced depot, warehouse, branch or operations supervisor who is ready to take greater management responsibility.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Depot Manager with the daily running of the depot.
- Supervise, support and motivate depot and warehouse employees.
- Allocate work and ensure operational priorities are completed.
- Monitor productivity, service levels and operational KPIs.
- Support goods-in, storage, picking, dispatch and stock-control activities.
- Help maintain accurate stock and operational records.
- Maintain high standards of customer service.
- Ensure employees follow health-and-safety procedures and site rules.
- Assist with rotas, attendance and appropriate staffing levels.
- Deputise for the Depot Manager when required.
Essential experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a depot, warehouse, distribution or similar environment.
- Experience supervising employees in a busy workplace.
- Understanding of stock control, goods-in and dispatch processes.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communication and people-management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Northampton.
Salary and benefits
- £32,000–£38,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Monday-to-Friday daytime working.
