Pay:
- £15/hour during 3-week training (17 hours, completed flexibly)
- £23-£25 per hour for one to one teaching
- £30-£36 per hour for small group teaching
- £15/hour for meetings and admin time

BrightPath Piano is a leading music school, delivering a modern, practical, and technology-driven approach to music education. With a proven model already supporting 300+ students each week at our established Livingston studio, we’re now expanding into West Edinburgh.
Our unique system helps students aged 6 through to teens make rapid, tangible progress while building confidence and a genuine love for music. Teachers value the clarity, structure, and support built into every aspect of the role.
We’re now hiring a part-time Piano Instructor to lead one to one lessons and small group lessons at our Livingston Site.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering one to one lessons to kids from aged 5 as well as for more advanced students.
- Teaching 2–4 students per class using our proven group learning format. Each student is supported individually to progress at the rate perfect for them
- Delivering engaging, structured sessions using our detailed curriculum and planning tools.
- Supporting student progress with weekly targets, creative challenges, and real-world performance goals
- Attending monthly team meetings (1 hour, Mainly virtual — Wednesdays or Thursdays at 10am-11am)
- Participating in occasional 1:1 virtual catch-ups with our leadership team

- Have experience teaching kids or teens (private or group setting)
- Are naturally well-organised and comfortable following set systems
- Are available:
Tuesday- 3:50pm-8:05pm (Essential)
Friday 5pm-7:30pm (Preferred)
- Hold (or are studying for) a music degree
- Play piano to Grade 8 level or higher and sight-read confidently
- Enjoy working with a team that values clarity, structure, and a shared sense of purpose
- Have superb client facing communication skills
- Are available for 44 wks of the year- including part of the summer holiday
- Bonus Points if you:
- Have group teaching experience (not essential — full training provided)
- Have a flair for creative lesson delivery and building rapport quickly
- Want to grow into a larger role as our studio expands
- Can potentially also cover shifts at our West Edinburgh Site at Hermiston Quay- EH11 4DF.
This role will start at 6 hours per week in late Sept, with hours and days expected to grow steadily over the coming months.
This has been the trajectory for all of our current teachers. We’re ideally looking for someone who is keen to develop this into a 3–4 day position over time.

Work Location: In person
