- Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 5:00pm

We’re looking for an experienced Yard Foreman to take a lead role within a busy metal recycling yard.
This would suit an experienced Yard Foreman from a waste/recycling background looking to move into scrap metal, or a current Yard Foreman / Yard Manager looking to join an established family-run business.
A hands-on, senior position overseeing the safe and efficient running of the yard, coordinating vehicles, drivers, yard operatives, machinery and daily workloads.
Key duties include:

Coordinating inbound/outbound vehicles and container movements

Managing traffic and pedestrian movements across the yard

Supervising and directing yard operatives

Keeping loads, collections and deliveries moving efficiently

Supporting yard operations and container loading
-
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site safety

Managing customers, drivers and traders professionally

Identifying and resolving operational issues

Reporting directly to company directors

Leading by example across safety, productivity and standards
- Previous Yard Foreman / Supervisor experience – ESSENTIAL

Waste, recycling, scrap metal or heavy industrial yard background

Strong understanding of yard traffic management and H&S

Confident managing staff, drivers and daily priorities

Computer literate and confident using emails, spreadsheets and operational systems.

Able to deal with difficult situations calmly and professionally

Reliable, organised and commercially aware
Desirable: Banksman/Traffic Marshal, FLT or mobile plant tickets, First Aid and experience with HGV/container movements.
