About the Role
Swift Temps are currently recruiting LGV C+E (Class 1) Drivers in Runcorn. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV drivers looking for regular daytime work, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidates.
Drivers will be responsible for making deliveries to customers throughout the region, ensuring goods are transported and delivered safely, professionally and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving an LGV C+E/Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Completing customer deliveries within scheduled timeframes.
- Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Completing delivery paperwork and relevant documentation.
- Following company procedures, transport legislation and site safety requirements.
- Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers.
- Assisting with unloading deliveries where required.
Approximately 90% of deliveries involve handball, although the vehicles are specially customised at the rear with rollers. Drivers can slide the packs from the stillages onto the rollers, allowing the customer to take the goods off the vehicle.
Performance Bonus
Drivers can earn an additional £100 performance bonus each week when agreed targets are achieved. These targets may include:
- Telematics/driving performance
- Attendance and reliability
- Safe and compliant driving
- Meeting operational requirements
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A valid LGV/HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Relevant driving entitlement and documentation
- The legal right to work in the UK
- A good driving record and strong commitment to road safety
- Good attendance and reliability
- A professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
