Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners while maintaining high standards of childcare provision. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of staff, developing programmes, and fostering positive relationships with parents and the community.
Duties
- Manage the daily running of the nursery, including staffing, planning activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education.
- Develop and implement educational programmes that support children's developmental needs.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and welfare.
- Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all times within the nursery environment.
- Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate cover during operational hours.
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Skills
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups.
- Ability to organise workloads effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between multiple nursery locations or community engagement activities. Pay: £30,160.00-£35,000.00 per year
