Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team during the daytime hours. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting or within home care environments. This role involves assisting individuals with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing, and promoting independence. The Care Assistant will work closely with care plans to deliver personalised care tailored to each individual’s needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities, encouraging independence where possible
- Follow care plans accurately to meet specific health and wellbeing requirements
- Maintain clear communication with residents, family members, and the wider care team
- Document care provided accurately using IT systems and record keeping protocols
- Support emotional wellbeing through companionship and active listening
- Assist with medication management as per training and care plan instructions
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and reporting any concerns promptly
Skills
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to implement them effectively
- Proficiency in IT systems for documentation purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Organised and attentive to detail in all aspects of care delivery
