About the Role
We're looking for an Inventory Planning Manager to play a key role in supporting one of Bauer Media Outdoor's largest and most strategic construction programmes in Essex.
Reporting to the National Inventory Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring materials are planned, ordered, stored, and distributed effectively across the project, helping to keep construction activities running smoothly and efficiently.
This role will focus on developing and implementing best-in-class inventory planning and stock control processes, working closely with Construction, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams. You'll act as the subject matter expert for inventory management across the project, ensuring the right materials are available at the right place and at the right time, whilst driving improvements in stock accuracy, visibility, and cost efficiency.
Success in this role will be measured through inventory performance, stock availability, process improvements, and the successful delivery of project milestones.
What you’ll be doing..
- Review and assess current inventory planning and stock management processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and operational performance.
-
Implement standardised inventory planning, replenishment, and stock control processes aligned to construction project requirements and timelines.
-
Work closely with Construction, Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure materials are available to support project delivery.
-
Review site surveys and project requirements to understand material demand, storage capabilities, and inventory needs.
-
Develop proactive replenishment strategies that minimise stock shortages, project delays, and excess inventory.
-
Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-related matters across the Essex construction programme.
-
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure inventory considerations are integrated into project planning and delivery activities.
-
Oversee the movement of materials between suppliers, warehouses, construction sites, and subcontractors.
-
Manage stock visibility and accuracy across all inventory locations, ensuring robust controls and reporting processes are in place.
-
Monitor inventory KPIs and performance metrics, providing regular reporting and recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, insight, and process optimisation.
Who are you?
-
Experience in inventory planning, stock control, supply chain, or materials management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, or a similar environment.
-
Strong understanding of inventory management principles, replenishment planning, and stock control processes.
-
Experience working with ERP, SAP, MRP, or other inventory management systems.
-
Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data and use insights to support decision-making.
-
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
-
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting.
-
Confident communicator who can build strong relationships across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment with changing priorities and competing demands.
-
Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
